SNOWBALL EDITIONS visits DE KUNSTMARKT
Friday the 29th of January 2010 you are welcome to join the presentation of the ’Snowball Editions’.
Yngvar Larsen, one of the initiators of the ’Snowball Editions’, will share his experience on establishing and managing the project. The presentation will be combined with the expansion of the shops collection with works from the ’Snowball Editions’.
Snowball Editions is an internet based publishing project for Norwegian contemporary art in exclusive editions. Around the 12th of each month, a new work is published on the website www.snowballeditions.com, and made available in a limited edition of 12 works. As the only one of its kind in Norway , Snowball Editions is focusing on Artist Editions in a variety of different formats – multiples, photography and prints.
The idea behind Snowball Editions is to establish a platform for showcasing Artist Editions by providing an alternative channel for sales and communication for Norwegian art. By highlighting art by both emerging and more established artists, and by keeping high quality standards and sympathetic prices, Snowball Editions has created a new venue for sales of contemporary art outside of the traditional galleries.
Snowball Editions was founded by artists in 2007, and is run on an idealistic base, with support from the Norwegian Arts Council.
The list of collaborating artists includes: Kjersti G. Andvig, Bjørn Bjarre, Markus Brendmoe, Tor Børresen, Anna Daniell, Marius Engh, Else Marie Hagen, Jorunn Hanstvedt, Marianne Hurum, Marte Johnslien, Stein Koksvik, Yngvar Larsen, LELLO//ARNELL, Per-Oskar Leu, Josefine Lyche, Lars Morell, Arne Revheim, Andreas Soma, Fredrik Værslev, Snorre Ytterstad and Stian Ådlandsvik.
